Important Update for G4S Security Guards

The Alberta Labour Relations Board has decided that G4S security guards have earned the right to conduct a vote on union representation at their workplace.

A hearing is being scheduled for Tuesday, February 25th, 2014 in Edmonton to discuss any possible objections from the employer and to decide on the logistics of the vote.

Please keep your eyes glued to your emails as this is an important part of the process!

We need you to supply us with your information whether you are on our current list or not.  The voters list we are using was compiled by the employer and we are already having some issues with it. In some cases, people have been left off the list or have been excluded because the employer has called them "supervisors".

This is problematic. In order to conduct a fair vote, we need to have an accurate list compiled.

The information that we need you to provide is the following:
  1. Your work location;
  2. Turnaround dates (days off);
  3. When you started working for G4S;
  4. First and last name;
  5. Telephone contact information.

We must receive this information no later than Monday, February 24, 2014.

Please email the information to aduckworth@ufcw401.ab.ca  or call either: 1-403-861-2121 or 1-306-260-3669.

For the workers that are working this weekend, you will be visited by an organizer at your work site so we can collect the required information in relation to this application.

Together, we are all working to make a better workplace for G4S security guards!
